At the start of this video they were adjusting valves. Remember Marc Huson would bring the car in after firing when engine was hot and then pull the covers and do a hot valve lash adjustment. The sometimes benefit to this was, depending on possible track conditions, how one may want to produce a slightly different power band. Tighter meant one thing, looser was the not quite opposite but allowed to change the torque curve. Somewhat like changing cam center degrees. Another is ramp and fall off of lobe centers. Marc was a bottom feeder, in that he chose to run the bottom, (shortest distance) around the track. If one watches in slow motion, the cars on the high side you will see a fair amount of tire spin. Getting power to the ground and sticking is of many variables.

I had forgotten that Day was even in the race. But someone else from Clovis won it anyway.

Great stuff. Mind you..... Holmes starting 4th.driving a blue and white car number 18T, and Solwold starting 6th, driving a blue and white car number 18, was confusing as hell! 🤨Especially when suddenly Holmes disappeared and it wasn't mentioned by the commentators (learnt after the race he had a flat tyre). For about 15 laps I thought he was still running in the top 6!😁😄

The clear difference between the top 2 cars and the rest of the field is that they are given the green light to destroy a car to get a win. They aren't racing for a top 3.

Id' just like to say your video coverage is way, way, way, way, way better then the Flo Racing highlights one. In Australia, I only get to see what comes on my RUclips subscriptions. It was much better watching your video, with FloRacings commentary, than watching their video! For a start, you give replays and after race interviews! Did anyone notice Cam Smith in the number 17......running at the back of the field, he avoided not one, but two crashes in front of him, by performing a nice little doughnut😁
